The word Reiki (pronounced ray – key) comes from two Japanese words: “rei” which means “universal” and “ki” which means “life force.” Hence, Reiki is called Universal Life Force. Reiki has its own intelligence and knows exactly where to go and what to do according to the Higher Self of the person receiving it.

The Reiki practitioner’s role is simply to channel the life force energy. Reiki’s Universal life force energy flows through the Reiki practitioner to the affected parts of the client’s energy field and charges them with positive energy. It raises the vibrational level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
